Henry Marsh and Simon Byrne both grew up in Bath, Somerset in the UK. They met in their late teens as their schooling was coming to a close. In the mid 60’s they began separate musical careers. In the years that followed they each had musical success both together and individually throughout their long association. As the years progressed Henry and Simon came up with the idea of looking at the many iconic songs of the 60’s, of favourite songs they used to play when they were finding their way as a cover band, and of many other bands they supported at gigs all over the UK and in Europe before becoming headliners in their own right.
Their new songs are heavily influenced by these past experiences and draw on the sounds and techniques they acquired over many years of writing and singing together. Having decided this, they realized that they would need a name for the project. They chose ‘The Sandles’.
